Mr. Pullen's Bio
Mr. Eric Pullen is one of the Assistant Principals at Mary E. Phillips High School, working primarily with the extended day program. A native of Nash County, Mr. Pullen grew up in Bailey, NC. He was awared the North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship, and attended East Carolina University, earning a degree in History Education. After graduation, Mr. Pullen taught in Edgecombe County at SouthWest Edgecombe High School for three years. He taught U.S. History, World History, and Civics and Economics. He then moved back home to Nash County, teaching 7th grade Social Studies at Red Oak Middle School. While teaching at Red Oak Middle, he earned his Master's in School Administration from ECU as well. Mr. Pullen is currently working on his doctorate at Gardner-Webb University. He has three children, ages 6,4, and 2, and loves to fish, travel, and go to the beach.
Mr. Pullen strongly believes that every child can learn. He is a major advocate for postive behavior supports, and works hard to make sure that students are actively engaged in learning. With this in mind, Mr. Pullen strongly supports technology in the classroom, and believes in student's having choices in their education
